Ingredients

Dough Ingredients:

  • 2 cups All-purpose flour Makes the dough stretchy and soft

  • 0.75 cup Milk Provides moisture
  • 2 tablespoon Unsalted butter Melted, adds richness
  • 1 Large egg Binds the ingredients
  • 1 teaspoon Vanilla extract Adds classic donut flavor
  • Vegetable oil For frying, if using traditional method

Cinnamon Sugar Coating:

  • 0.5 cup Granulated sugar For coating
  • 1 tablespoon Ground cinnamon Mix with sugar

Optional Glaze:

  • 1 cup Powdered sugar For glaze
  • 2-3 tablespoon Milk Add gradually to desired consistency
  • 0.5 teaspoon Vanilla extract Adds flavor to the glaze

Instructions

  • In a large bowl, whisk together flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt.
  • In a separate bowl, mix milk, melted butter, egg, and vanilla extract.
  • Combine wet and dry ingredients, stir just until mixed. The dough should be slightly sticky.
  • Cover the bowl and let the dough rest for 10 minutes to relax the gluten.
  • Lightly flour your surface and hands. Roll dough to ½-inch thickness.
  • Cut small circles using a 1-inch cutter or shot glass. Re-roll scraps to use all the dough.
  • Preheat air fryer to 350°F. Lightly spray basket with oil.
  • Place donut bites in basket, spaced apart. Lightly spray tops.
  • Air fry for 4–5 minutes until golden brown and puffed.
  • For frying: Heat 2 inches of oil to 350°F in a pot.
  • Fry 4–5 bites at a time for 1–2 minutes per side, until golden. Drain on paper towels.
  • While still warm, coat bites in cinnamon sugar or dip in glaze.
  • Serve fresh for best taste and texture.
