Equipment

  • 1 Tall clear glass Preferably a highball or Collins glass
  • 1 Spoon For layering (bar spoon or teaspoon)
  • 1 Measuring spoons or jigger To measure grenadine and soda
  • 1 Small pitcher For easier orange juice pouring
  • 1 Citrus Juicer Optional, if using fresh orange juice

Ingredients

  • 1 cup Orange juice Fresh-squeezed preferred
  • 1–2 tbsp Grenadine syrup Adjust for color intensity
  • ¼ cup Lemon-lime soda Or ginger ale
  • 1 Orange slice For garnish
  • 1 Maraschino cherry For garnish
  • Ice cubes Enough to fill half the glass
  • ½ teaspoon Vanilla extract Optional, for added depth

Instructions

  • Fill a tall glass halfway with ice.
  • Pour grenadine into the glass and let it settle.
  • Slowly pour orange juice over the back of a spoon to layer.
  • Add a splash of soda, again over a spoon, to finish.
  • Garnish with an orange slice and a cherry. Serve immediately.
