Ingredients

  • 4 Granny Smith apples Medium-sized, chopped, unpeeled
  • 1 cup Sugar Granulated
  • 1 cup Water For making the syrup
  • 2 tablespoon Lemon juice Freshly squeezed
  • ¼ teaspoon Citric acid Optional, for extra tartness
  • teaspoon Salt Enhances flavor
  • 4–6 cups Sparkling water Or club soda
  • Ice cubes As needed
  • 1–2 drops Green food coloring Optional, for vibrant green color
  • Fresh mint leaves Optional garnish

Instructions

  • Wash and chop apples
  • Blend apples into chunks
  • Simmer sugar and water
  • Add apples, lemon, and salt
  • Simmer 15 minutes, cool 10 minutes
  • Strain syrup thoroughly
  • Stir in citric acid or coloring
  • Combine 3–4 tablespoon syrup with soda
  • Serve with ice and mint garnish
