Ingredients

For the Dough

  • 4 cups Bread flour or all-purpose flour Gives structure
  • cup Granulated sugar Sweetens dough
  • 2 teaspoons Instant yeast Fast-acting
  • 1 ½ teaspoons Salt Enhances flavor
  • 4 large Eggs Room temp, adds richness
  • ½ cup Whole milk Warm, activates yeast
  • 1 cup Unsalted butter Softened, creates tender crumb

For the Egg Wash

  • 1 large Egg For brushing
  • 2 tablespoons Heavy cream Adds shine

Instructions

  • Mix flour, sugar, yeast, and salt. Add eggs and warm milk; mix into a dough.
  • Knead 8–10 min until smooth.
  • Add butter in batches, knead until elastic.
  • Cover, rise 2 hrs, punch down, refrigerate overnight.
  • Shape into loaf or rolls, rise until doubled.
  • Brush with egg wash.
  • Bake at 350°F (175°C) for 25–30 min until golden.
