Ingredients

For the Steak Marinade

  • ½ lbs sirloin steak sliced thin against the grain
  • 3 cloves garlic minced
  • ¼ cup fresh lime juice
  • ¼ cup olive oil
  • ½ cup fresh cilantro chopped
  • 1 teaspoon cumin
  • ½ teaspoon smoked paprika
  • salt and black pepper to taste

For the Rice Bowl

  • 2 cups jasmine rice or brown rice
  • 3 cups beef or chicken broth
  • 1 lime cut into wedges, for serving
  • ¼ cup red onion thinly sliced
  • 1 avocado sliced
  • fresh cilantro as needed, for garnish

Instructions

  • Whisk marinade ingredients and coat steak. Let sit for 15–30 mins.
  • Rinse and simmer rice in broth until tender.
  • Cook steak in a hot skillet until browned and juicy.
  • Layer rice, steak, toppings, and drizzle reserved marinade.
