  • 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips or mix dark and milk chips
  • ½ cup unsalted butter, melted cool before mixing
  • ¾ cup brown sugar adds rich caramel flavor
  • ½ cup granulated sugar balances sweetness
  • 2 large eggs room temperature
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract enhances chocolate flavor
  • ½ cup all-purpose flour creates cookie texture
  • ¼ teaspoon salt balances sweetness
  • ½ cup chopped pecans (optional) adds crunch

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Prepare crust in a 9-inch pie pan.
  • Whisk melted butter, brown sugar, and white sugar until smooth.
  • Beat in eggs one by one, then add vanilla.
  • Stir in flour and salt until combined.
  • Fold in chocolate chips (and pecans).
  • Pour filling into crust, bake 45–50 minutes until golden.
